Elmira, Oregon, is known for being an undiscovered little town. You can find it in the west of Eugene and north of Veneta, near the Fern Ridge Reservoir and Long Tom River. Perhaps, It is a relatively small town, and most of its residents are locals.

Living in Elmira

Elmira is a small rural town. It is easy to know each other in the neighborhood. It doesn’t have many amenities to offer, but it’s just a few minutes away from bigger cities like Eugene and Springfield. Since everyone knew each other here, it doesn’t feel like a small town but more like a large extended family.

As mentioned earlier, Elmira is a relatively small town with a small number of people who knew each other. The environment here is tranquil, and the traffic was never bad compare to the noise and hassle in bigger cities.

It is only 1.6km away from Territorial Bistro, which offers delicious breakfast, sandwiches, and incredible desserts. Perhaps, Elmira is also only 1.6km away from Figaro’s Pizza, which provides all American comfort food in a family-friendly environment.

Elmira has plenty of space with a total land area of 22.15 square miles and a total population of 2,572. Perhaps, the population density here is only 116 people per square mile.

Despite being a small town, Elmira has competitive schools. Perhaps, Elmira High School ranked 18 within Oregon and ranked number 2,332 in the 2020 National Rankings of US News. Aside from that, the prestigious University of Oregon is just 16 miles away from Elmira.

Recreation

Elmira doesn’t have many amenities, but it does have an event center called Elmira Grange, where they held their annual Botanic Fest. It is an event that provides free activities for the residents like Herbal Tea Tasting and Herb of the Year Cooking Demo & Tasting.

 

Elmira, Oregon, is an ideal place to live in, away from a crowded and noisy environment.  Moreover, Elmira doesn’t have much to offer, but it’s peaceful, perfect location and its residents’ strong sense of community.
