Very cool drive through stop in Veneta. We stopped by on our way to the coast. The Y Cook Food Stop is a unique drive through set up with ordering on one side and pick up on the other side. It has simple food but a surprising variety of options, and good prices. We ordered a Poppa burger, a teriyaki burger, bacon cheeseburgers, and hamburgers, all with fries and drinks (canned soda). They come with "Y Sauce" which I was excited to try. Fries are delicious! Soft potatoes fried well with a dash of Cajun seasoning. The Y Sauce fry sauce is also phenomenal, a great mix of ketchup and mayo with some light seasoning, maybe some mustard. Everyone agreed it was delicious and top tier. Burgers were meaty and decent. Fresh veggies and the carmalized onions are great. Quality bacon and cheese. The Y Sauce is a decent burger spread as well, pretty light. Not a lot of flavor from the grill, my guess is they scrub their flatop pretty clean pretty often. The Poppa Burger's mix of cheddar and cream cheese alongside the jalapeño poppers is a creamy, greasy dream. Jalapeños are just a little bit spicy, perfect for a burger. I really enjoyed this burger. Teriyaki burger is fairly sweet but not too much, and was enjoyed. The bacon cheeseburgers and hamburgers were good, but the common comment was "there's nothing that stands out about them". I would definitely eat here again. The specialty burgers appear to be the way to go.
This place is amazing! Pulled pork fries and their nachos are heavily recommended. Staff was super friendly, and for any travelers they often hook it up for hungry kids.
We ordered thru grubhub and it was cooked and delivered in a timely fashion and still warm. The burgers tasted amazing and the chicken sandwiches were good. No one in the house complained. Kinda sucked not realizing that fries doesn't come with the burgers but definitely will remember for next time when we reorder.
Absolutely the best tacos ever!!! I had the shredded pork deal two for $5 on Tuesday. Then tonight I had teriyaki bowl. It was honestly again incredibly delicious!! I will be a regular from now on and be sure to take my visiting guests.
I needed a quick lunch on my way from Eugene to Florence and I stopped at Y Cook for a basic burger with fries. The place is essentially a small kitchen with four walls around it. Not much bigger than a toll booth, and you either take the food home or eat in the car. The staff was friendly and the burger was really good. I particularly liked the fries, which had a nice seasoning. Watch out for the place since it is really easy to miss.
