If I could give 0 stars I would, even negative. After 6 days at McKenzie trying to recover, which was great care, My dad was transferred here to hillside for less than 24 hours, in that time he had 20 dollars stolen out of his wallet and a brand new pair of scissors I got for cutting up his food, his meds where not given on time and had a lot of verbal abuse among other things. So transferred by ambulance to McKenzie, no room so riverbend. After talking for hours with Riverbend social care person assuring us he can go back so they can transfer him somewhere else better, never happened cause they are refusing him back. My dad said they wanted him gone, if your in that much pain you need to go back to the hospital they say. Up at 12 pm trying to pee, hurting while doing it yelling in pain and they tell him to be quiet or leave. I want to sue but........ Now he has 4 antibiotics, 4. This is not right, and they should stone for it. Got an infection from the catheter which whoever did it caused a lot of blood and should of been obvious that it was going to cause an invection. BUT NO. Even knowing the oxycotton pain med is causing him sever hallucinations and blood pressure problems and on record for not giving it to him, they give it as his pain medicine. He is in the ICU 4th floor at Riverbend. This place needs to be closed.

I don’t know why the reviews are so good, this place has poor care and half of the actual LPNs and RNs don’t check on their residents and the CNAs aren’t doing their job and it’s going unnoticed by the nurses. Unfortunately this seems to be the reoccurring thing throughout care facilities at the moment. Staff seemed overworked and burnt out, causing bad care.
I’ve heard better things about it recently but overall they need to reevaluate how their CNAs treat residents.

Think twice about this facility.. My brother was admitted to this facility 2 weeks ago and as yet I have been unable to visit with him . Made an appointment. When my husband and I arrived at the appointed time I was told very curtly we did not have an appointment. We could not see him. We would have to make another appointment. We knew we had the appointment. It showed on my phone. Got home talked to his wife and decided to make another appointment. Called and was told could not make appointment three days in advance. What is your facility trying to hide?
