From John Steinbeck's "Tortilla Flat". " When Danny came home from the army he learned that he was an heir and an owner of property. The VIEJO, that is the grandfather, had died, leaving Danny the two small houses on Tortilla Flat.". What does this have to do with Chipotle. All in good time my friend. All in good time. Having traversed over terrain both treed and muddied we found ourselves in the EMU. Standing on line at the Chipotle. I ordered the Carnitas Burrito, no cheese if you please. My nephew ordered from Panda Express, that is his business. C was busy and short handed but rocking as only the youth of higher education can. All was well. We sat outdoors in the sunshine. Yes.

So grateful for this Chipotle location! It’s always been there for me. Especially on those days I don’t bring lunch to work. It’s so easy, fast, convenient and accessibly healthy. Tristen always greets everyone with a smile no matter how busy! I so appreciate their service to the EMU.

At about 5:00pm on a weekday evening they were out of both beans and chips. I asked if they could substitute something (beans are a staple). The answer was no, they were not allowed to substitute anything. But then they offered to substitute rice, bc it is cheap. The worker mentioned that rice and beans were both grains (they aren't). What we ordered tasted good, but I would be wary of the management here if they cannot foresee a lack of beans and/or chips and possibly other ingredients, and could not find their way to think of a fair substitution for their mistake.

The workers were nice about it, but they turned off their registers earlier than their close so they wouldn't make food.

Firstly, I’d like to stress that this is a MANAGEMENT issue and NOT an employee issue. Speaking from experience as a food service worker/manager.
Extremely sub par customer service. Boy at the counter lifelessly greeted me while staring into the distance. He also threw my food down onto the counter towards me when he was done. Food is lukewarm and the meat is consistently grisly. Counters were dirty and food safety seemed generally dubious. Whoever is managing this location should consider training their employees on customer service, presentation, and cleanliness.
I’ve had better customer service experiences here in the past, maybe this kid is just a problem employee.
